There’s a reason you avoid the things you want.
Editor’s Note: This post was originally published in October 2016.
Napolean Hill once said “When your desires are strong enough, you will appear to
possess superhuman powers to achieve.” but what we would add to this is that if the want for something is really strong, and your belief in your ability to get it is strong, it’s easy to move the want into choice and get to where you want to be. And most people will do whatever it takes as long as they have strong self-esteem and are in a healthy emotional state around what they want.
But if your want is strong and you have low self-esteem and your emotional energy
is in the lower energies, the want has a negative effect – it creates negative faith.
The reason you avoid the things you want is because you end up pushing away the very thing that you want. Every time you think about the thing you want you associate it with pain, because the want is strong but your current belief that you can have it or get there is weak…or completely in the negative.
This pain causes your nervous system to distance you from what you want out of
because it sees it as more pain when you get it.
Brian goes into this idea with advanced students in depth in the video.
